PRESBYOPIA

It is accepted that even when people have enjoyed good sight throughout their life that they often require reading glasses sometime after the age of 45. This is normally caused by presbyopia, where the eyes lose their ability to accommodate and change focus. Presbyopia in the past has been treated simply by wearing reading glasses.

However, in certain selected cases, it is now possible to correct presbyopia with surgery. This treatment is known as PRELEX.
