The eye may be padded overnight, but this is often not necessary. The pad needs to be removed the following day and the eye cleaned with saline or boiled water. If the operation is carried out as a day case then this will need to be done at home - a dressing pack with the necessary swabs and saline will be provided. If an overnight stay at the hospital is involved this will be carried out there. The eye does not need to be covered after this, even at night. | |
